THE ABBEY OF CRIME - LA ABADÍA DEL CRIMEN
PC version for MS-DOS, Spanish and English, EGA monitor - 2026
==============================================================================

ENGLISH
-------

The Abbey of Crime (La abadía del crimen), the Opera Soft adventure after
Umberto Eco's novel The Name of the Rose, in its PC version (1988) for
MS-DOS: one release with Spanish and English inside, a new EGA monitor and
a start menu of options, as in the Commodore 128 version.

The monitor menu has a third line, F3 = EGA monitor: the game is shown with
the inks of the Amstrad CPC original (cyan, orange and pastel yellow by day;
blue, mauve and grey at night; a pink parchment with a red frame) instead of
the CGA palettes. F1 (colour) and F2 (monochrome) are the original ones.

Then the options menu:

  1 language: Spanish / English
2 footsteps sound: on / off
3 text sound: on / off
4 the Ave Maria: on / off
  SPACE start

The Ave Maria is the monks' chant at compline, the voice the original
floppy plays on the PC speaker (the game waits for it, about 14 seconds).
The 1999 MS-DOS release left it silent; this one plays it again.
Spanish with everything on is the original game.

ESPAÑOL
-------
